Case Studies
Our integrated approach to design and build helps us improve products quickly.
Here are three quick case studies on products we developed for our customers:
Customer
Issue:
Outmoded design and poor reliability in Class IV Therapeutic Laser
Nathaniel
Approach:
Developed prototype in 6 months and began manufacturing within another 6 months
We were approached to help out with a customer’s Class IV Therapeutic Laser Device. They were having problems with reliability issues, and they were looking for a more powerful device which would be capable of delivering deeper, more penetrating relief to patients suffering from trauma and pain.
Within six months Nathaniel designed and developed a prototype with increased power housed in a better-looking and more transportable package. The customer loved the look and feel of the new laser, so we went into production and were able to manufacture and deliver the more effective and powerful, easy-to-hold device within another six months.
Nathaniel is proud
to be able to help doctors provide healing to patients suffering from sports
injuries, arthritis and chronic pain.
Customer
Issue:
Needed a high-tech,
low-cost, low-volume replacement to high-volume, low-tech component
Nathaniel
Approach:
Re-designed the assembly to create lower-cost module with increased reliability
Nathaniel was approached by the manufacturer of an indoor air quality filtration system capable of killing mold and mildew in homes and offices. Their existing product used a high-volume component made in China. The technical data on the module and the ability to customize it for their application was non-existent.
We re-designed the entire assembly; the module is now built in much smaller volumes, and the overall labor has been reduced. This resulted in lower costs, increased reliability, and a better fit for their lean manufacturing process.
Customer
Issue:
Traditional range finders are large and expensive to produce
Nathaniel Approach:
We miniaturized and reduced costs with a quick production turnaround
We were approached to design and build a smaller, less expensive laser rangefinder by one of the international giants in consumer optics.
Not
only were we asked to miniaturize while reducing costs, and deliver a few
thousand units in time for seasonal demand, we were only given six months
to do it in. We delivered on all fronts.
